Volunteer Positions
Instagram Manager
Manage Instagram page for Mwangaza House. Work directly with admin team to post photos and captions and interact with followers. Grow supportive connections, particularly with age group under 40 years. Experience using Instagram preferred. Position may require learning non-profit marketing strategy related to Instagram.
Accounting Assistant
Supply clerical and administrative support for accounting tasks, such as recording transactions (using ICON software), reconciling bank records, and preparing budget goals and reports. Assist with keeping financial records. Accounts management/bookkeeping experience is preferred.
Grant Finder
Seek prospective grant funding from public and private foundations and corporate sources. Identify strong matches, evaluating MHI's eligibility to apply. Assist grant writer with managing timeline of proposals and reports. Experience in grant selection is preferred, but not mandatory for a person willing to learn.
Project Fundraiser
Manage focused fundraising for project development and program growth. Engage individuals and groups in fundraising activities, such as event planning/promotion and committee work. Represent MHI's mission, vision, and donation opportunities to individuals, groups, local churches, and businesses. Several positions to be filled.
Church Funding Promoter
Present MHI's mission and vision in like-minded churches in your local area and other areas. Work with MHI's admin team and board to implement our strategical plan for contacting and engaging churches interested in partnering with Mwangaza House. Track engagements and responses to evaluate effectiveness. Work to meet goals for MHI's operational funding. This position may also extend to visiting conferences and schools.
Grant Writer
Submit proposals to prospective grant funders. Track and follow up with grant applications in process. Revise previous submissions to improve them for future applications. Work with grant finder to manage timeline of proposals and reports. Experience in grant writing is preferred, but not mandatory for a person willing to learn.
Merchandise Sales Developer
Work with businesses to promote ongoing sales of merchandise for which MHI receives a return. Sell branded merchandise online (e-commerce store) and/or at events. Boost giving to funding campaigns by creating promotions of merchandise sales. Ensure legal compliance at state and federal levels. Assist with reports preparation and finance analysis.
Correspondent
Provide clerical support to send various materials to donors (existing and prospective), such as welcome cards to first-time donors, thank-you cards to new monthly donors, giving statements, etc. Assist with managing e-mail marketing and correspondence.
